Drax and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries sign pioneering deal towards delivery of the world’s largest negative emissions project

Aligned with the targets of CCUS SET-Plan to deploy Bio-CCS technologies by 2030, this joint project will see Drax license Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ carbon capture solvent to capture CO2 at its power station. The first bioenergy with carbon capture unit is planned to be operational by 2027 and will be able to capture at least 8 million tonnes of CO2 a year by 2030.
